Lebanon Blue Devils Varsity Loses Lead Early In Defeat
Lebanon Blue Devils Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 8-1 loss to Beech on Tuesday. Beech scored on a groundout by Carly Sperlich and a double by Kennedy McCurry in the first inning.
Lebanon Blue Devils Varsity took an early lead in the first inning. Brianna Nagelhout grounded out, scoring one run.
Beech took the lead for good with two runs in the first inning. In the first Anna Smallwood induced Carly Sperlich to ground out, but one run scored and Kennedy McCurry doubled off of Smallwood, driving in one run.
Beech scored four runs in the fifth inning. Beech’s big inning was driven by a error and a triple by Hannah Marlar.
Anna Bennett led Lebanon Blue Devils Varsity with two hits in four at bats.
Beech had 14 hits in the game. Kailey Brown, Natalie Lankster, Mackenzie Williams, and Marlar each collected multiple hits for Beech. Marlar led Beech with three runs batted in. sHe went 2-for-4 on the day.
