Playing with passion on Senior Night, Rossview High sloshed to a 24-7 victory over Region 4, 6A foe Lebanon Friday.

Ignoring the elements on a cold, wet night the Hawks limited the Blue Devils to just 15 yards in total offense while running for 221 yards on 39 carries.

“You’ve got to give Rossview a lot of credit,” said LHS head coach Chuck Gentry.

“They played a lot better than we did in all phases of the game.”

Hawk tailback Fred Orr ran for 147 yards on 16 carries, including third quarter touchdown runs of 69 and 18 yards.

Isiah Phillips added 53 yards on 15 carries as the Hawks led 10-0 after one quarter and 10-7 at intermission.

LHS quarterback Chandler Crite completed 1-of-3 pass attempts for five yards and a touchdown — a five-yard lob to Heremiah Jastings right before the end of the second quarter.

Tyrique Cooper ran nine times for 12 yards on the slippery field.

Now 5-5 on the season, Lebanon finished fourth in the region and will play at 10-0 Murfreesboro Oakland Friday, Nov. 3 in the opening round of the TSSAA Class 6A playoffs.
