Coed Varsity Band · LHS Band had 11 Selected to participate in the Mid-State Honor Band and Presley Bush qualified for All State Band

Recently, 11 students from Lebanon High School were selected to participate in Mid-State Honor Band, an annual event put on by the Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association (MTSBOA). To be chosen involves a highly rigorous audition process in which students from all across Middle Tennessee compete for a limited number of spots. Those selected spend a weekend in January in Murfreesboro preparing for their concert. The students selected from LHS were: Alice Orr and Isaac Bland on clarinet; Austin Dickson on contra-alto clarinet; Eric Fung on alto saxophone; Miranda Phillips on tenor saxophone; Matthew Shreeve on baritone saxophone; Piper Pedigo on trumpet; Presley Bush on French horn; Benjamin Nixon and Jhonatan Roman on trombone; and Philip Griffin on euphonium. In addition, Presley Bush placed high enough in her section to qualify her for All-State Band, making her the first person from LHS to do so in at least 7-8 years.
LHS band director Ben Channell was thrilled with the results of this year’s auditions. “Last year, 8 students made Mid-State, and this year there are 11. Also, I am extremely proud of Presley Bush for making All-State on French horn. We are excited to see such growth in the band program and in these students!  I am very proud of these selected students and how they are representing our city, school, and band program! One awesome Lebanon!”
