The Lebanon High School Swim Team continued its strong start to the season last Friday night at the second Division Meet of the season. The team collected 9 Regional Championship qualifying times as well as several personal bests.
The Girls team got the meet off to a great start with their 200 Yard Medley Relay win. Abigail Hopper continued the momentum with two Regional swims in the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Breaststroke. Emma Pierucki added two more Regional swims with her 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke. Grace Midgett added the final Regional swim for the girls in the 100 Breaststroke.
Katie Floyd and Ella Kate Pine both added strong performances in the Freestyle events and 100 Backstroke to go along with AZ Salazar’s personal best in the 50 Freestyle. The girls team wrapped up the meet with another relay win in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.
The Boys team was not to be outdone with both Wade Mathews and Thomas Poteet grabbing two Regional times of their own. Both posted Regional times in the 100 Backstroke with Mathews just missing out on the State qualifying time in the 100 Butterfly with a personal best. Poteet finished off the meet with a personal best and Regional time in the 100 Freestyle.
The team is back in the pool for another Division Meet on Thursday, December 5th at 5pm at the Gallatin Civic Center.
