Lebanon Swim Team kicks off 2021
The Lebanon High School Swim Team had a great start to their Season last Friday night with a second-place finish against Green Hill, Goodpasture, Mt. Juliet and Heritage Christian. The team posted 4 State and 7 Regional Championship qualifying times to go along with 6 new personal best times.
Emma Pierucki led the way for the Girl’s Team with two State qualifying times in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Freestyle races. Abigail Hopper added two Regional qualifying times in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke. Jayce Yarbrough continued Lebanon’s haul of Regional qualifiers by making the 200 Individual Medley cut with a personal best. Ella Kate Pine added two personal best swims in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke. The Girl’s Team finished second in both relay events.
Walker Orbke paced the Boy’s Team with two State cuts in the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Breaststroke. Wade Mathews, Thomas Poteet and Chase Climer each secured two Regional qualifying times. Mathews in both the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke, Poteet in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke and Climer in the 100 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke. Hayden Belcher posted personal best times in both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle. The Boy’s Team won the 200 Free relay and finished second in the 200 Medley relay.
The team returns to action on Friday, January 29th at 5:45pm at the Jimmy Floyd Center when they take on Cookeville, Green Hill, Mt. Juliet and Heritage Christian.
